A revised Bid Schedule and <br /> a copy of the sign in sheet are attached. The following amendments and clarifications should <br /> be incorporated into the Invitation for Bid: <br /> 1 . THE BID OPENING HAS BEEN CHANGED TO JUNE 11, 1996 at 2:30 p.m. <br /> 2. Under Task 5, Earthwork,the fine grained limestone material (rock dust) located at the <br /> eastern portion of the project area near the fallen hopper, shall be removed and utilized <br /> in the reclamation project. The area of the fallen hopper shall be lightly graded to <br /> conform with surrounding topography. Coal fines located outside the entries shall be <br /> pushed to the highwall and covered by other earthen materials. <br /> 3. Material needed for backfilling the highwall shall be excavated from the areas listed <br /> below. Excavation will be accomplished in the following strict order. Excavation of <br /> each area shall be completed prior to excavating from the next area: <br /> 1) Surface channel to be constructed; <br /> 2) North Fork Dutch Creek slopes; <br /> 3) Dutch Creek slopes downstream of the Waste Rock Dump culvert; and <br /> 4) Dutch Creek slopes upstream of the Waste Rock Dump culvert <br /> 4. Demolition of the fan housing foundation (above entries) is not required. The <br /> foundation may be covered by four feet W) of earthen material,compacted in one foot <br /> (1') lifts. <br /> 5. The slope of the highwall backfill may be constructed so that slopes are gentler (less <br /> steep) than 2H:1 V. Compaction and other pertinent backfilling and demolition <br /> specifications are unchanged. <br /> 6. The forty-eight inch (48") holes to be driven through the existing block walls within the <br /> entries may be completed at any time during completion of the project. The tunnel <br /> drainage must continue to flow unimpeded through the existing discharge system until <br /> completion of the project. <br />
