Maintenance procedures to insure stability of <br /> the rock spoil disposal area include the following : <br /> - conducting weekly inspection (4 . 09 .1 (10) ) of the fill to <br /> check if rills, gullies or tension cracks have developed; <br /> -supervising and monitoring fill construction; <br /> -constructing the earth fill slopes in accordance with 30 <br /> CFR 816 . 71 and 816 .72 ; <br /> -conducting weekly inspections of all drainage diversions, <br /> impoundments and culverts associated with the fill; <br /> -revegetating using standard engineering and reclamation <br /> procedures . <br /> A comprehensive water monitoring program of <br /> the permanent rock fill area will be accomplished by taking <br /> quantity and quality readings from the observation wells that <br /> have been drilled below and within the fill area . <br /> Water monitoring schedules for the tunnel <br /> portal area will be as follows: <br /> -all observation wells will be checked quarterly for static <br /> water levels and water quality samples will be taken; <br /> -all surface sample points will be sampled; <br /> -all water quality samples will be analyzed for the following <br /> parameters: TSS, TDS, pH, Iron (Fe) , Manganese (Mn) , and Conduc- <br /> tivity. <br /> See Volume 5 Exhibit III-E-1 (left side) . <br /> This map shows groundwater monitoring wells in the rock tunnel <br /> refuse.
