Description of all buildings , structures <br /> and utility corridors . <br /> (1) General <br /> Coal Basin mine surface facilities consist of <br /> a preparation plant, explosives storage, methane gas pipeline, <br /> sewage treatment, water system, electrical transmission system, <br /> communication facilities and numerous support facilities (adminis- <br /> tration, supply, shop, etc . ) . All have been designed, constructed <br /> and are being maintained in accordance with federal, state and <br /> local regulations . Their locations are shown on Exhibits II-B-2- <br /> a thru d . Lists and descriptions of all surface buildings and <br /> structures located in the permit area are included in Appendix <br /> II-B-6. Narrative descriptions of the major surface facilities <br /> follow. <br /> (2) Preparation plant <br /> The Mid-Continent Coal Basin preparation <br /> plant utilizes three separate circuits to clean the coal from the <br /> Coal Basin mines . These are the heavy media, deister tables and <br /> flotation circuits . Before entering one of the circuits the run <br /> of mine coal is fed from bins via belt conveyor into the plant <br /> onto wet screens that separate the material into +14 inch and -34 <br /> inch sizes (Figure II-B-1) . <br />
