B. Layout
1. Liner shall be installed only when weather conditions are appropriate:
a Ambient temperature must be between 40 °F and 100 °F to ensure that
the liner is not cracked or torn in the unrolling or layout processes
b Liner shall not be installed when wind conditions create the potential
for tearing of the liner. Sandbags may be used to prevent uplift and
tearing of the liner.
2. Liner shall be installed as indicated on the approved shop drawing.
3. Installer shall only deploy panels which can be seamed or secured on the day
of deployment.
4. Panels shall be allowed sufficient slack to accommodate grade transitions.
5. Panels shall be installed with a minimum 6" overlap.
6. All personnel walking on the liner shall wear shoes which do not cause
damage to the liner. Activities that may cause damage to the liner such as
smoking or improper use and storage of sharp tools shall be prohibited.
C. Field Seaming
1. Seller shall utilize thermal fusion methods for formation of field seams.
2. Ensure that all surfaces to be seamed are clean and dry. Welding equipment shall be capable of delivering sufficient amounts of heat
and pressure to the seam area to produce a continuous thermal weld.
4. Continually inspect all seams. If any seam defects are noted, cease seam
production immediately, remove affected area, adjust equipment and repair
as outlined in below section.
D. Repair
1. Inspect the liner for punctures, tears and other defects.
2. All defects shall be removed from the liner and covered with a thermally fused
circular patch which extends a minimum of 6" beyond the extents of the
defect and is seamed along the entire perimeter.
3. A zero leakage liner shall be installed. Upon hydraulic testing of the liner by
the Owner, should leakage be detected, installer shall locate and repair in the
field any faulty section of liner.
RFP — Lagoon Liner pg. 3
