2.4 Quality Assurance
A. Field Sampling
1. Field sampling shall be done by the Liner Installer.
2. At the beginning of each work day and after any stoppage of work, a test
seam shall be made to verify the setup of the fusion equipment. These
samples shall be retained by the Owner as an indication of seam quality
3. Installer shall periodically remove samples of field seam and submit these
samples for testing. The location of each sample shall be cataloged. Liner
area cut for sampling shall be repaired as outlined above.
4. Samples consist of the entire field seam plus six inches of width on either
side.
5. Sample shall be cut into three pieces: one to be retained by the Owner, one
to be retained by the Seller and one to be submitted for destructive testing.
6. Destructive testing must demonstrate that the seam meets or exceeds the
Sellers specified seam strength and peel adhesion. Seams that do not meet
these criteria shall not be acceptable.
7. If sample is found to fail destructive testing, the installer may
a Reconstruct the suspect seam between two other sample points
shown to pass destructive tests.
b Take additional samples along the suspect seam and reconstruct the
seam between two of the additional sampling points shown to pass
destructive testing.
RFP — Lagoon Liner pg. 4
