3) maintenance and operation of the water treatment system
including the Cement Creek diversion in compliance with the
CDPS Permit and related Consent Decree. It is planned to
suspend diversion and treatment of Cement Creek for at least
a portion of the 1999 reporting year. The capability of
diverting and treating Cement Creek will be maintained. Water
from the lower American Tunnel will be treated according to
the terms of the CDPS discharge permit.
4) monitoring and maintenance of revegetated areas.
TERRY TUNNEL AREA - Plate No. 2
During the 1998 reporting year, no additional acreage was disturbed
or reclaimed. The 1. 65 acres planted in 1995 exhibited
improvements in growth. It appears that some vegetation will be
established by this effort.
Activity at this site consisted of;
1) site clean-up.
2) inspection of the tunnel bulkhead and monitoring for portal
flow according to the terms of the Consent Decree, CDPS
discharge permit and MLR Permit M-77-378, TR-14.
3) monitoring of the planted side-slopes.
Activities planned for 1999 are;
1) inspection and monitoring of the tunnel bulkhead and for
portal flow.
2) monitoring and maintenance of the planted side-slopes.
SUNNYSIDE BASIN (LAKE EMMA) AREA - Plate No. 2
During the 1998 reporting year, no additional acreage was disturbed
or reclaimed.
Activity at the site consisted of;
1) refilling the area of subsidence over the Lake Emma hole back
to grade. The fill material was obtained from the stockpile
left for this purpose.
2) erosion tracks along the west side water drainage path were
repaired. It appears that winter ice blocks the drainage path
and causes the initial spring thaw surge to travel over land
creating erosion paths. The repaired area was reseeded.
