RECLAMATION PLAN AND TIMETABLE
EXHIBIT E
RECLAMATION PLAN.
The proposed future use is to be rangeland surrounding two
ponds and while not specifically designated wildlife habitat it
my eventually be used for that purpose. McAtee Construction Co.
may eventually sell the property to be used for recreational
purposes.
In the MINING PLAN, we discussed mining 32.00 acres ±
within the permit boundary to create two individual ponds.
Please refer to MAP EXHIBIT F - RECLAMATION PLAN MAP to see the
location of the areas we discuss in this text. The ponds created
will have irregular shaped shorelines due to variations created
during mining. This will serve to create a more pleasing appear-
ance and improve the use in the future. The proposed setbacks
define the outside limits of the area to be mined, this is where
the slopes into the ponds will begin. Not only will the pond
boundaries be irregular but the below - water - slopes will be 3:1 or
less, within the 5 feet above to 10 feet below area around the
pond. The exact location of shallower slopes are not known at
this time, they will be created as mining progresses by variation
in mining methods and wave action on the banks.
Of the 46.82 acres ± in the permitted area, 42.18 acres ±
will be disturbed by the mining operation and 4.64 acres ± will
be left in its natural state along the Edwards -Gill drainage.
Within the area to be mined, the two ponds created will cover
approximately 28.28 surface acres and the remaining 13.90 acres ±
will be above water. The above water area will have 0.80 acres ±
of road, 7.22 acres of Plant Site and 5.88 acres ± that will need
resoiling and revegetation.
This pit is broken in to three stages, two for mining and
one as the Plant Site. Mining began in Stage I in 1995 and will
proceed to the east and south until the mining perimeters are
reached. As mining progresses the perimeter area will be left at
or near 3h to lv as discussed in the MINING PLAN. Once this is
done and the area above water will not be redisturbed it will be
resoiled and revegetated.
This procedure is designed to minimize the effect of mid -
plan stoppage. Growth medium is to be stripped and stockpiled
around the mine as mining progresses. This ensures that it will
be close to there it is needed and reduce the distance it has to
be hauled when needed for reclamation. Usually, this will mean
it simply has to be spread and graded.
13
