Plans for 1989 in Sunnyside Basin include the following : <br /> (1 ) Conduct underground mining on the No Name Vein, Sunnyside <br /> Vein , and Washington Vein as approved in the TR-07 <br /> submittal . <br /> (2) Treat the waste rock stockpiles with ProMac in June and <br /> October and monitor the effectiveness of the acid mitigation <br /> plan submitted for the waste stockpiles. <br /> (3 ) Monitor the revegetation test plot and additionally test <br /> overburden as a growth media in Sunnyside Basin. <br /> (4) Monitor the subsidence in the diversion trench for <br /> stability. <br /> (5) Submit a Technical Revision request for permanently sealing <br /> the hole in the Sunnyside Open Pit floor . <br /> (6 ) Develop a reclamation plan for at least one of the open <br /> pits . <br /> Tailings Pond No. 4 Area - Plate No. 3 <br /> Normal maintenance was performed on the Tailings Pond No. 4 . <br /> This maintenance included spraying the pond outslopes with dust <br /> suppressant and replacing the water-measuring weir with a 12-inch <br /> Parshall Flume. Valves were placed on the discharge ends of the <br /> decant lines to enable personnel to shut off flow from the lines <br /> if something happens that rakes it impossible to stop flow at the <br /> decant towers . <br /> A Technical Revision was submitted for approval to change the <br /> construction method of Tailings Pond No. 4 to earthen embankments <br /> with subaerial deposition. This will involve recycling at least <br /> part of the pond water back to the mill and allow partial <br /> reclamation of the pond through planting of the pond ' s outslopes . <br /> Plans for 1989 include: <br /> (1 ) Doing the construction and reclamation work as outlined in <br /> TR-09; <br /> (2) Implementing a stability monitoring plan for Tailings Pond <br /> No. 4 to evaluate the effects of the change in construction <br /> methods; <br /> (3 ) Development of the water recycle system at the mill . <br /> Tailings Pond No. 3 Area - Plate No. 3 <br /> Tailings Pond No. 3 was used for deposition of sludge from the <br /> American Tunnel settling ponds and Terry Tunnel ponds and pits <br /> and as a spill catchment for the tailings booster pump located at <br /> - 4 - <br />
