TR-019 Request
Page 4
RECLAMATION PLAN
Cement Creek Diversion
The diversion installation, when no longer needed according to
the terms of the voluntary Consent Decree, will be removed.
The area disturbed by construction of the accessway will be
recontoured by roadway removal with an excavator to
approximate the original contour and planted with the
"Mountain Mix" seed mixture specified in the reclamation plan
for the American Tunnel area, File No. M-77-378.
The additional area to be disturbed by this project is
estimated to be less than 0.5 acres.
Mine Pool Alkaline Injection
No additional land disturbance is anticipated for this
project. Equipment will be removed at the end of each field
season therefore no additional reclamation work is planned
over that in the existing reclamation plans for the permitted
areas involved.
WATER INFORMATION
Cement Creek Diversion
The Consent Decree with its terms will govern the project
timing and quantities of water diverted for water treatment.
Monitoring and reporting requirements are also included in
these terms. Project inspection under the terms of the
Consent Decree will be performed by DMG as well as under this
permit.
The level of treatment required will be governed by SGC's CDPS
discharge permit for the American Tunnel facility (CDPS CO-
0027529) .
The installation of the diversion structure in Cement Creek
will require Corp of Engineers approval. It is believed that
this installation can be approved under a regional or
nationwide permit. This diversion structure will not be
installed prior to approval by the Corp of Engineers.
The Office of the State Water Engineer was contacted
concerning this project. There is no consumptive use involved
therefore no water right filings required. As long as stream
Water Quality Standards are not affected, this project does
not fall under their area of interest. See attached letter.
