Trapper Mine, C- 1981 -010
RN6; Preliminary Adequacy Review
21 Aug 2012
3.1.7 Permanent Cessation of Operations
22. This section indicates permanent cessation of operations may occur in 2014 and that a detailed closure
plan will be submitted for that permit term. Based on discussions with Trapper Mine personnel during
site inspection it does not appear operations will permanently cease in 2014. If so, please revise this
section of the permit accordingly.
3.3.3 East Panel Landslide Geotechnical Evaluation
23. The page numbering between the currently approved paged 3 -27a to 3 -27d contains missing page
numbers and overlapping page numbers. Currently there are two pages labeled 3 -27b, 3 -27c and 3 -27d.
The first page 3 -27b is the continued narrative from 3 -27a including information on the updated
monitoring system. The second 3 -27b contains Table 3.3 -1. The first page 3 -27c is Figure 3.3.3 -1
depicting the current monitoring stations. The second page 3 -27c is Table 3.3 -2. The first page 3 -27 -d
contains Table 33-3. The second page 3 -27d contains Table 3.3 -4. Also, There is a map without a page
number located between the pages containing Figure 3.3.3 -1 and Table 3.3 -1. It appears each of these
pages are necessary parts of the permit, please number them in the appropriate sequential order and
submit the revised pages.
3.4.3 Blasting Operations
24. For the next permit term, will blasting be conducted within 1,000 feet of any building, dwelling, public
building, school, church or community or institutional building outside the permit area; or within 500 feet
of an active or abandoned underground mine? If so, please revise page 3 -3la accordingly and submit the
required blast design required in Rule 4.08.1(4)
3.4.4 Records (Blasting)
25. According to this section describing what information will be contained in a blast report, the narrative
indicates to refer to Figures 3.4 -2 and 3.4 -3. The Division could only locate Figure 3.4 -3 on page 3 -34.
Please correct this discrepancy.
3.5.3 Post Mining Contours
26. The first paragraph on page 3 -40 indicated Map M -14A consists of a series of cross sections that provide
a comparison of pre and post mining topography in the active mining area for the current permit term.
Map M -14A will likely need to be updated for the next permit term. Also, please update the text for the
next permit teen.
27. Map M12 depicts the post mine topography at the end of 2014. This map will likely need to be updated
for the next permit term.
3.5.4 Regarding Boxcut Spoils
28. The first paragraph of page 3 -44 indicates one dragline box cut will be opened during the permit term.
Please update this section for the next permit term if necessary.
