Seeding method - Hydroseeder <br /> The second phase of the American Tunnel refuse and trash disposal plan would <br /> consist of the following: <br /> 1. The excavation of a suitable pit (cell) adjacent to the existing <br /> site for the future containment, compaction and insitu burial <br /> of wood and trash. The excavation would primarily consist of an <br /> earthen containment dike. See map. <br /> 2. The institution of a refuse and trash segregation program that would <br /> initially separate metal refuse from other materials. This program <br /> would consist of the following: <br /> A. The stockpiling of all metal for sale as scrap metal <br /> and/or re-use. <br /> B. The insitu burial of all other materials. <br /> 3. The future containment capping and revegetation of the proposed pit <br /> (No. 1, second phase) would follow the outline criteria of the first <br /> phase of the refuse and trash plan. <br /> Mayflower Mill <br /> The Mayflower Mill refuse and trash dump primarily consists of the following <br /> materials: <br /> Spent tires 20% <br /> Wood - Timbers, pallets, etc 15% <br /> Metal - Beams, pipes, miscellaneous 10% <br /> Oil drums S% <br /> Reagent containers 10% <br /> Garbage - Paper, glass, cans, plastic 37% <br /> The Mayflower Mill refuse and trash plan would consist of two phases. The first <br /> phase of the plan would incorporate the following: <br /> 1. The posting of "No Public Dumping" sign. <br /> 2. The cleanup, compaction and containment on site of all refuse and <br /> trash that has migrated from the dump proper. <br /> 3. The insitu burial of all existing refuse and trash from Mayflower <br /> Mill and Engineering office areas. The insitu burial would adhere <br /> to the following guidelines: <br /> A. The existing °�',_a�� square foot area would be covered with <br /> approximately one foot to two feet of barrow material from <br /> the adjacent hillside. <br />
