June 1997 Monthly Report
Page 2
Capping material was hauled to the site where needed.
During June, the site was seeded with Sunnyside's MLR seed mix
(Mountain Mix) specified for sites the same elevation as the
Boulder Creek Tailings site. After seeding, the site was
mulched with grass hay spread by an aeromulcher.
Planned future activity consists of monitoring and maintenance
with possible additional planting of shrubs and trees.
A completion certification and inspection request was
submitted for this site in June. DMG inspected the site and
concurs that reclamation was in accordance with MLR standards.
Progress pictures taken in June, 1997 are included with this
report.
- Columbus Mine Portals - Mine Waste Dumps
This is a "B List" project. Therefore, no work, permitting or
arrangement for access is planned until it becomes evident
that the work plan for this project requires implementation.
- Surface Mill Tailings at Eureka
During June and the 2nd quarter, scrap and trash were removed
from the site. Additional work including site neutralization,
minor grading, erosion protection for a portion of the Eureka
Creek bank and site planting is planned for July after high
water conditions recede.
Site progress pictures taken in June 1997 are included with
this report.
- Gold Prince - Mill Tailings
No work was done on this project in June or the 2nd quarter
due to snow-cover. Access to the site was possible in June
but the entire site was snow-covered. Mobilization for
installation of the portal bulkhead is planned for late July.
Progress pictures for this site are not included in this
report due to snow-cover.
- Ransom Tunnel
The bulkhead was poured on June 191 1997 after a pre-pour
inspection by DMG on June 16, 1997 . 7-day compressive
strengths of test cylinders averaged 4737 psi which is the
average of 4 compressive strength tests. The lowest result
was 3470 psi. All results were over the 3000 psi design
strengths. Bulkhead concrete-rock contact grouting was
started by month-end.
