Boulder Creek Tailings MRP is located <br /> approximately 2 miles NE of Silverton, immediately north of the confluence of Boulder <br /> Creek and Animas River, in portions of the SE 1/4 of Section 9, T41 N, R7W, NMPM, San <br /> Juan County. <br /> Inspection Date: 6/3/97 Inspection occurred at 7:50 pm through 8:50 pm <br /> SGC Representative: Mr. Larry Perino <br /> DMG Inspector: Wally Erickson <br /> Field Conditions: Clear and cool <br /> Observations: Tailings removal, backfilling of areas excavated below natural topography, <br /> final grading, and seeding had been completed in accordance with conditions of the <br /> Consent Decree and in accordance with the requirements of the Colorado Mined Land <br /> Reclamation Act, 34-32-101 et seq., C.R.S. 1973 as amended, revised 7/93, and in <br /> accordance with the Hard Rock/Metal Mining Rules and Regulations of the Colorado <br /> Mined Land Reclamation Board, effective 5/77, amended 10/95. <br /> Final configuration of Boulder Creek Tailings MRP area (approximately 2.5 acres) blended <br /> with natural topography. Tailings pond and pond embankment material had been <br /> relocated to Mayflower Pond #4. Operator indicated that relocated tailings had been <br /> neutralized in accordance with Consent Decree requirements. <br /> During tailings relocation, operator located additional tailings along the south side of <br /> Boulder Creek, and relocated additional tailings to Mayflower Pond #4. Additional tailings <br /> had not previously been identified within the Consent Decree documentation. Operator's <br /> commitment to reclamation of pre-law disturbances and improved water quality is <br /> appreciated. <br />
