Y
recreation. Roads A, B, C, D will be reclaimed using techniques and concepts similar to those
employed in 1996 at roads E, F and G. Modifications to the concept and construction techniques
will be made using data obtained from the 1997 reclaimed road survey.
WASH PLANT RECLAMATION: Final reclamation of the Wash Plant and mine office areas
will be accomplished. This will also include reclamation of the many access roads in this
vicinity, and construction of drainage ditches on the Old Refuse Pile.
LOADOUT: The load out facility is located near Carbondale. Concrete demolition, earthwork
and revegetation will need to be accomplished in order to facilitate the industrial post mining
land use of this area.
After the main reclamation projects are accomplished, there will be a need for periodic
maintenance of the site. Maintenance activities include rill and gully repair, reseeding of those
areas which did not adequately revegetate and repair of ditches and diversions. Reclamation of
the sediment pond system will need to be accomplished when the vegetation is sufficiently
established so that erosion is effectively controlled.
9
