• t <br /> Section II (continued) <br /> Pa ge 3 <br /> 4.10 and <br /> 4.11 Coal Processing Waste and Non-Coal Processing Waste <br /> It was observed during the inspection of the Rock Tunnel waste disposal area <br /> that waste rock screened from the raw coal had been placed in the disposal area. The <br /> approved plan permits only Rock Tunnel waste to be disposed there. If coal waste is disposed <br /> of at that location, the pile may exceed its designed capacity and may result in a pile <br /> with a static safety factor below 1.5. <br /> The operator must submit evidence that disposal of this material at the Rock Tunnel <br /> disposal area will not result in adverse environmental harm. If information shows that <br /> this disposal may cause potential environmental degradation, then Mid-Continent will be <br /> required to remove the coal waste rock to the coal processing waste disposal area. <br /> 4.15 Revegetation <br /> Some of the areas seeded last fall have good emergence. It is still too early <br /> to evaluate revegetation success. <br />
