l <br /> TASK 2 PROVIDE MATERIALS <br /> The purpose of this task is to provide all materials required to complete the tree planting <br /> specified in Task 3, below. Items to be provided include the specified containerized trees and <br /> Polyaccrylimide. <br /> Trees <br /> Containerized trees of the following species will be provided: <br /> - Sub Alpine Fir `" � 1 <br /> - Engelmann Spruce I {vl <br /> - Colorado Blue Spruce <br /> - Douglas Fir <br /> *ietel of 4,,688 trees per species wfff be provided. A total of 18,75 trees will be provided to the <br /> Project Area. <br /> Acceptable trees will be two years old and will be delivered in Styrofoam boxes containing <br /> twenty trees each. The Styrofoam boxes must contain individual partitions, separating the trees <br /> from each other. Each individual tree partition will be at least one and one half inches (1 1/2") <br /> square, and must be at least seven inches (7") deep. Ninety percent (90%) of the trees in each <br /> container must be between five inches (5") and twelve inches (12") in height. <br /> Polyaccrylimide <br /> Sufficient Polyaccrylimide shall be provided so that approximately one tenth (0.1) of an ounce of <br /> this material may be placed in each planting hole. Approximately one hundred seventeen (117) <br /> pounds of Polyaccrylimide shall be provided. <br /> Measurement and Payment S ' ' <br /> Measurement for payment shall be based upon a count of the number of trees provided, <br /> accepted and delivered to the Project Area, and a measurement of the weight of the / <br /> Polyaccrylimide provided and delivered to the Project Area. Such payment shall be considered J_�. <br /> full compensation for the provision and delivery of the specified trees in the quantities specified, <br /> and for the provision and delivery of the Polyaccrylimide. Payment will be made only for the <br /> price bid in Item 2 of the Bid Schedule, and as work is completed and approved by PROJECT <br /> MANAGER. <br /> TASK 3 TREE PLANTING <br /> Planting of trees provided in Task 2, Provide Materials, will occur in the following manner: <br /> Hand tools <br /> It is anticipated that all trees shall be hand planted. The hand tools used by CONTRACTOR <br /> shall have a minimum fourteen inch (14") length and four inch (4") minimum width planting <br /> blade. The head or scalping blade of a mattock is not to be included in the minimum length - <br /> measurement. Use of dibbles and planting bars is not allowed. <br /> 6 <br />
