Specifications. Commercial fertilizer is required for this project, and will be supplied by the <br /> CONTRACTOR. Seed will be supplied by the OWNER. <br /> All areas disturbed during reclamation work and any other areas specified in these Special <br /> Conditions will be revegetated according to the Revegetation Specifications in the General Bid <br /> Specifications Section 20.0, except as modified by these Special Conditions. <br /> The perimeter of the ponds will be seeded with "Pond Reclamation Seed Mixture" (Table 1). All <br /> other areas will be seeded with the "Mine Site Seed Mixture" (Table 2). <br /> Due to site conditions, no revegetation efforts may be initiated prior to August 20 2000 <br /> In addition to the revegetation specifications outlined in Section 20.0 attached, the following <br /> requirements will be adhered to: <br /> Seed <br /> Seed will be provided by the OWNER. The CONTRACTOR must give the PROJECT <br /> MANAGER at least ten (10) working days notice of the acreage to be seeded, so that the <br /> proper amount of seed is delivered. Hand written acreage calculations are acceptable. <br /> The Pond Reclamation Seed Mixture will be exclusively used within the excavated and rip <br /> rapped pond spillways, and along the pond margins. Seeding with this mixture will occur from <br /> the water line to a point measured ten feet (10') vertically above the water line, or to a point <br /> measured twenty feet (20') horizontally distant from the water line, whichever is less. <br /> The Mine Site Seed Mixture will be used at all areas other than those designated for seeding <br /> with the Pond Reclamation Seed Mixture. <br /> Fertilizers <br /> Commercial fertilizer is required for this project. Fertilizer shall be provided by the <br /> CONTRACTOR, and shall conform to Section 20.2 (commercial fertilizer) of the Revegetation <br /> Specifications. <br /> Seedbed Preparation <br /> Seedbed preparation was accomplished during performance of Tasks 3 and 5 (Earth Work and <br /> Access Road Reclamation, respectively). <br /> Mulches <br /> Mulching is required for this project. Mulch shall be provided by the CONTRACTOR, and shall <br /> conform to Section 20.2 of the Revegetation Specifications. All mulch shall be certified as <br /> noxious weed free or noxious weed seed free by any authorized State or County Officer. <br /> Documentation of certification shall be provided to the PROJECT MANAGER prior to <br /> application of mulch. <br /> Mulch shall be applied at a rate of one (1) ton per acre. Mulching is not required over rip rap. <br /> The CONTRACTOR will supply the fertilizer (commercial), mulch, and equipment for fertilizer <br /> application, seeding, mulching and crimping. Revegetation efforts will occur on approximately <br /> 14 <br />
