Reclaimed Area Repair <br /> All previously reclaimed areas which are disturbed as a result of reclamation activities <br /> shall be repaired at CONTRACTORS expense. Such repair shall include, but may not be <br /> limited to, ripping of compacted ground surface (perpendicular to the fall of the slope), <br /> repair of berms or ditches, seeding and mulching. In the case of reclamation repair, <br /> CONTRACTOR shall supply seed in the appropriate quantity, and of appropriate quality <br /> and species, and shall install seed at the rate specified in Table 1, Coal Basin Mine Site <br /> seed Mixture. All mulch shall be certified as noxious weed free or noxious weed seed <br /> free by any authorized State or County Officer. Documentation of certification shall be <br /> provided to the PROJECT MANAGER prior to application of mulch. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this task will be reflected in a <br /> lump sum bid under Item 4 on the Bid Schedule. This lump sum bid will cover all costs <br /> for removal of stockpiled topsoil, distribution of topsoil onto the specified areas adjacent <br /> to Ditch 8, mulch acquisition and application, surface roughening, seed application and <br /> grading of the Sutey Topsoil Stockpile. Additionally, payment shall include all costs <br /> necessary and incidental to completing repairs to previously reclaimed areas which were <br /> affected by CONTRACTOR during completion of this Project. Such payment shall be <br /> considered full compensation for all labor, materials, equipment and all other items <br /> necessary and incidental to the placement of topsoil as directed and described in the <br /> specifications. Payment for this task will be made only for the unit price shown under <br /> Item 4 of the Bid Schedule. Payment shall be as this task is completed and approved by <br /> the PROJECT MANAGER. <br /> TASK 5 EQUIPMENT RENTAL <br /> Additional areas in and adjacent to the Project Area may require slope reduction, <br /> excavation or erosion control work. A CAT D-4C or equivalent 80 FHP machine with <br /> operator, a CAT 416B Backhoe loader or equivalent 74 fhp machine with operator, and a <br /> five (5) cubic yard on/off highway end dump truck with operator shall be furnished for <br /> additional work as needed. <br /> The hours outlined in Item 5 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed. All work will be <br /> accomplished according to Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental, General Bid <br /> Specifications, 1996. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> Payment shall be made as described in General Bid Specifications, 1996, Specification <br /> 19.0, Equipment Rental. Payment will be made at the unit prices established in Item 5 of <br /> the Bid Schedule. The hours outlined in Item 5 of the Bid Schedule are NOT <br /> guaranteed. _ <br /> PROJECT OBSERVATION <br /> The PROJECT MANAGER viill be at the project site periodically to monitor construction <br /> activities and ensure that each work item is completed and constructed to design <br /> specifications. The PROJECT MANAGER will be available during regular business <br /> hours (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.) on weekdays. Inspections will not be scheduled on <br /> 14 <br />
