Reclaimed Area Repair All previously reclaimed areas which are disturbed as a result of reclamation activities shall be repaired at CONTRACTORS expense. Such repair shall include, but may not be limited to, ripping of compacted ground surface (perpendicular to the fall of the slope), repair of berms or ditches, seeding and mulching. In the case of reclamation repair, CONTRACTOR shall supply seed in the appropriate quantity, and of appropriate quality and species, and shall install seed at the rate specified in Table 1, Coal Basin Mine Site seed Mixture. All mulch shall be certified as noxious weed free or noxious weed seed free by any authorized State or County Officer. Documentation of certification shall be provided to the PROJECT MANAGER prior to application of mulch. Measurement and Payment There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this task will be reflected in a lump sum bid under Item 4 on the Bid Schedule. This lump sum bid will cover all costs for removal of stockpiled topsoil, distribution of topsoil onto the specified areas adjacent to Ditch 8, mulch acquisition and application, surface roughening, seed application and grading of the Sutey Topsoil Stockpile. Additionally, payment shall include all costs necessary and incidental to completing repairs to previously reclaimed areas which were affected by CONTRACTOR during completion of this Project. Such payment shall be considered full compensation for all labor, materials, equipment and all other items necessary and incidental to the placement of topsoil as directed and described in the specifications. Payment for this task will be made only for the unit price shown under Item 4 of the Bid Schedule. Payment shall be as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. TASK 5 EQUIPMENT RENTAL Additional areas in and adjacent to the Project Area may require slope reduction, excavation or erosion control work. A CAT D-4C or equivalent 80 FHP machine with operator, a CAT 416B Backhoe loader or equivalent 74 fhp machine with operator, and a five (5) cubic yard on/off highway end dump truck with operator shall be furnished for additional work as needed. The hours outlined in Item 5 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed. All work will be accomplished according to Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental, General Bid Specifications, 1996. Measurement and Payment Payment shall be made as described in General Bid Specifications, 1996, Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental. Payment will be made at the unit prices established in Item 5 of the Bid Schedule. The hours outlined in Item 5 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed. _ PROJECT OBSERVATION The PROJECT MANAGER viill be at the project site periodically to monitor construction activities and ensure that each work item is completed and constructed to design specifications.
