Infestation areas on the attached map indicated by the Numbers 1, 2" will be treated during the <br /> July 5 application, and during the August application. Areas on the attached map indicated by the <br /> Number"2" will be treated only during the August application. <br /> Road E, the Overland Conveyor Area, the Sutey Refuse Disposal Area and a portion of the Old <br /> Refuse Area have been previously reclaimed. Access to these areas will need to be <br /> accomplished only by all terrain vehicle, farm equipment weighing less than 1.5 tons, or by foot. <br /> Road E is accessible only by an unimproved low water crossing. Access by vehicles other than <br /> those specified will not be permitted at any area which has been reclaimed. Aerial application is <br /> not permissible. <br /> The Road A Area and the westerly portion(s) of the Sutey Refuse Disposal Area are accessible <br /> truck traffic. <br /> Application <br /> CONTRACTOR shall apply the specified chemical herbicide treatments for the purpose of <br /> controlling noxious weed infestations at the Coal Basin Mine. The species of noxious weeds to <br /> be managed at this location include Plumeless thistle (Carduus acanthoides), Canada thistle <br /> (Cirsium arvense), Oxeye daisy (chrysantheum leucanthemum) and Houndstongue <br /> (Cynoglossum officinale). Other noxious weed species may be encountered, and shall be treated <br /> when observed. <br /> Tordon will be applied at an application rate of two (2) quarts per acre. Surfactant shall be added <br /> to the application as specified by labeling. Blue dye shall be used throughout the application <br /> process. <br /> CONTRACTOR will be responsible for properly securing chemicals until Project completion. <br /> CONTRACTOR shall apply the herbicides at the rate of application stated above. <br /> CONTRACTOR shall provide all equipment, chemicals and labor and materials necessary to <br /> accomplish application throughout the Project Area. <br /> Note that a clean water source may not be readily available at the mine site. Potable water may <br /> be available in Redstone. <br /> Treatment using conventional application methods, such as spraying from truck, all terrain vehicle <br /> or back pack mounted equipment is acceptable, given the limitations of access and reclaimed <br /> lands. <br /> Application shall NOT occur within six (6) hours of predicted significant rain or snow fall. <br /> Application shall not occur if wind speeds at the application area exceed fifteen (15) miles per <br /> hour. CONTRACTOR must provide a wind speed measurement device, and maintain it in an <br /> operating condition throughout the duration of the Project. <br /> CONTRACTOR shall keep thorough and accurate records throughout the duration of the project. <br /> Records shall indicate material applied, dilution factor, application rate per acre, ambient air <br /> temperature (at 9:00 a.m., noon and 3:00 p.m.) and wind speed (at 9:00 a.m., noon, 3:00 and <br /> 5:00 p.m.). <br /> CONTRACTOR shall conform to all applicable environmental and safety standards given <br /> application methods, duration and products. CONTRACTOR shall not clean and dispose of <br /> unused or remnant materials in a manner which is deemed to be deleterious to environmental <br />
