transporting and anchoring them to hill slopes and other surfaces; construction of brush layers,
transportation and installation of pre-vegetated wattles, digging trenches in consolidated and
unconsolidated materials; transplanting shrubs in the vicinity of the Project Area; anchoring
shrub cuttings; transporting and hand placing rock materials within gullies; hand mulching and
seeding as well as other miscellaneous activities. CONTRACTOR must provide appropriate
hand tools and transportation (four wheel all terrain vehicle) in good working condition for
laborer(s) to accomplish these miscellaneous projects. PROJECT MANAGER will provide
specifications for specific laborer constructed structures at the time that the work is required.
The hours outlined in Item 8 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed. All work will be
accomplished according to Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental.
Measurement and Payment
Measurement and payment will be made as per Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental. Payment
will be made at the unit prices established in Item 8 of the Bid Schedule. The hours outlined in
Item 8 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed.
TASK 9 ROAD REHABILITATION
Specifically included within Task 1 is the CONTRTACTORS responsibility to rehabilitate the
previously reclaimed roads that will be used to access the mine bench outslopes. Portions of
Roads B, D, E and F (see attached Project Area map) will be traversed to access the work sites.
Each of these roads has been previously reclaimed. Access to the work areas will be restricted
to a two wheel track that CONTRACTOR will establish at each road. All traffic must be
restricted to the two wheel track.
Following completion of all work tasks requiring motorized access across a road,
CONTRACTOR will accomplish road reclamation rehabilitation. Rehabilitation will be
accomplished by dozer ripping the access track and any other disturbances as directed by
PROJECT MANAGER, and reconstruction of all low water crossings and water bars located on
the road as directed by PROJECT MANAGER. Following ripping and water bar/ low water
crossing reconstruction, the areas affected by these activities will be revegetated. It is
estimated that approximately ten (10) acres will be revegetated as part of the road rehabilitation
Task. CONTRACTOR will supply all materials (excepting seed), labor and equipment
necessary and incidental to completing this Task.
Revegetation will occur in the following manner:
Seed
The OWNER will provide seed. CONTRACTOR must give the PROJECT MANAGER at least
fifteen 05) working days notice of the acreage to be seeded, so that the proper amount of seed
is delivered. Hand written acreage calculations are acceptable. All areas will be seeded with
the "Coal Basin Mine Site Seed Mixture", (Table 2). It is anticipated that the seed will be
broadcast applied to the road surfaces at the rate specified in Table 2.
Fertilizer
Commercial fertilizer is required for this Task, and will be supplied by CONTRACTOR. It is
anticipated that the fertilizer will be broadcast applied to the road surfaces.
17
