Mulch <br /> Mulching is required for this project. Mulch will be provided by CONTRACTOR, and must <br /> conform to Section 20.2 of the General Specifications. All mulch must be certified as noxious <br /> weed free or noxious weed seed free by any authorized State or County Officer. <br /> Documentation of certification must be provided to the PROJECT MANAGER prior to delivery <br /> of mulch. Mulch will be applied at the rate of two (2) tons per acre. The mulch must be <br /> anchored to the ground surface either by hand or through the use of a tackifier. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> Measurement and payment for this Task will be per acre rehabilitated. The rehabilitated <br /> roadways will be measured to the nearest 0.1 acre and paid at the unit price bid on the Bid <br /> Schedule Item 9. The price bid shall include all costs for labor, materials, equipment and all <br /> other items necessary for road rehabilitation as described in these specifications, including <br /> scarification of the roads, repair of low water crossings and water bars, and revegetation. <br /> Payment for this task will be made only for the unit price shown under Item 9 of the Bid <br /> Schedule. Payment shall be as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT <br /> MANAGER. <br /> PROJECT OBSERVATION <br /> The PROJECT MANAGER will be at the project site periodically to monitor construction <br /> activities and ensure that each work item is completed and constructed to design specifications. <br /> The PROJECT MANAGER will be available during regular business hours (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 <br /> P.M.) on weekdays. Inspections will not be scheduled on weekend days or holidays without <br /> prior approval of the PROJECT MANAGER. It is the Contractor's responsibility to schedule <br /> inspections with the Project Manager so as not to delay the work. The following items must be <br /> observed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER before proceeding with additional work: <br /> 1. Initiation and completion of slope scarification at each work area; <br /> 2. Initiation of tree planting at each work area; <br /> 3. Initiation of shrub planting; <br /> 4.
