frequency within the system will be primarily <br /> determined by the foreman, on as as necessary <br /> basis, as indicated by his visual inspection <br /> of water quality. <br /> An operator's check-off list will be posted in <br /> the water treatment plant beside the equipment <br /> as a reminder of necessary steps to be taken <br /> in the event of system malfunction, mechanical <br /> failure, or power outages. <br /> Security Personnel <br /> Security personnel work three shifts, seven <br /> days a week. <br /> On-duty security personnel will be assigned to <br /> monitor the effluent from the plant during <br /> periods when the treatment plant is functioning <br /> but the preparations plant is idle, with no <br /> plant operator on duty. In that case, a visual <br /> inspection will be made by security personnel <br /> during each shift. <br /> Security people will be instructed to visually <br /> inspect the effluent at 028. If the water <br /> appears to be of an unacceptable quality, if <br /> there is a power outage requiring start-up, or <br /> for any other indication of malfunction or <br /> trouble in the system, the security personnel <br /> will be instructed to call a plant operator, <br /> and to advise the mine foreman and the person <br /> on-duty at the lamphouse. <br /> A phone list of personnel to be called will be <br /> maintained at the plant, available to security <br /> personnel. <br /> Security personnel will be trained to shut down <br /> pumps, thus discontinuing flows to 028, in the <br /> event of noting unacceptable water quality in <br /> the plant effluent. <br /> The duties of security personnel will be <br /> limited to visually monitoring the appearance <br /> of the effluent, shutting off the pumps, if <br /> necessary, and phoning appropriate supervisory <br /> personnel. <br /> All other determinations as to the proper <br /> course of action, necessary repairs or start- <br /> up procedures will be made by plant supervisory <br /> 7 <br />
