Also, the topsoil piles should be <br /> set up to allow access for the scraper later in the summer . This <br /> can be done prior to travelling up to Mine #5 . One week is allowed <br /> to perform some minor regrading and foundation removal at Mine #5 . <br /> For each of the three mine roads, one week is allowed for the Cat <br /> D8N to perform some f i na 1 grad i ng that may be d i f f i cu 1 t f or the 16G <br /> grader. <br /> At the end of week 16 , the dozer will need approximately two weeks <br /> to do final topsoil spreading at the Sutey Pile area. Also, two <br /> weeks are allocated to contingency which may be used to cover <br /> weather problems and breakdowns . <br /> For the Cat D8N and other items currently owned by Mid-Continent <br /> Resources , two cost estimates will be given: first , a cost estimate <br /> assuming that the owned equipment will be used for the reclamation <br /> and second , that all work will be contracted at competitive prices . <br /> Costs - Cat D8N <br /> Owning cost : $44 . 56/hr (assumes new machine) <br /> Operator cost : $21 . 58/hr ( includes all benefits) <br /> Operating cost : $38 . 00/hr ( includes fuel , oil , maintenance) <br /> All owning and operating costs in this cost estimate are based on <br /> Caterpillar figures for a new machine. Actual costs may vary <br /> somewhat for machines in different condition . <br /> Estimate 1 : (use dozer at mine, do not include owning cost) <br /> 20 weeks x 40 hrs/week x $59 . 58/hr = $47 , 664 <br /> Estimate 2 : same as above plus owning cost of dozer (assumes paying <br />
