Grading work would be suspended during late September and personnel
involved with seeding of the Sutey pile and portal benches #5, #4 and #3, and of
areas disturbed during portal sealing and as borrow areas.
Assuming structures are not removed from Mines #1 and #2 bench areas during
1993, the foundations will not be available for portal sealing. We might then
take material to push down the portal openings from the outer perimeter of the
benches, as that is our general reclamation plan in any case. The foundations
would then be placed against the cut and used as fill.
1994.
Early season.
Complete grading at the raw coal storage areas, glory hole bunker site and
overland conveyor route. Topsoil as required.
We would need the overland conveyor taken down, the conveyor removed from
the raw coal reclaim system, and the culverts either removed or cut at ground
level (if MLRD will allow it).
Complete coverage of the old refuse pile with topsoil (estimated 3 acres to be
covered). This could be done, or partially done, in 1993. The consideration is
that the ponds on the old pile may need cleaning during the summer, and it's
less expensive to place the pond cleanings on the old pile.
When roads are accessible, grade Mine Roads #3, #4 and #5 (assuming fans
and structures have been removed, portals filled, grading completed at these
portal areas), cut off culverts, install rolling dips and water bars.
Remove powder magazines.
If/when structures are removed from Mines #1 and #2, grade these benches.
Seal openings as fans are removed.
If time allows, and structures and fans have been removed from the #1 and #2
portals, begin road reclamation of road to Mine #1 .
Seed areas reclaimed.
1995.
Complete portals/roads which remain to be done.
Reclamation Schedule
3
