a logical approach to stabilizing the road system. He indicated that he was pleased with the reclamation concept put forward for the 405 acre facilities area as well. He did identify two concurs at this area, however. These are the stability of the cliff which is supporting the western portion of the Old Refuse Pile, and the long term geomorphic stability of the Dutch Creek diversion (the flume system) . He will be back the first week of August to evaluate these two facilities more carefully. I indicated that we have also identified these two structures as serious problems, but that the reclamation plan does not contemplate remediation of these areas. I also indicated that internal discussions have taken place, and that perhaps Resources may be approached about funding for these projects in the future. Tony Svatos was generally happy with the work accomplished thus far, but thought that we should require a greater degree of backfilling on the steep roads. He also expressed concern that the revegetation at Mine 3 would not be adequate. He has suggested that another attempt at revegetation be undertaken. He is strongly ion favor of using organic additives to increase productivity potential. He suggest that we consider using sewage sludge, or a product such as bio-sol as a soil amendment. At the end of the meeting, I emphasized that the reclamation of the 405 acre tract is dependent upon sufficient monies being available through the bankruptcy process. They have been advised that they should contact me if they have questions or comments regarding the reclamation concept for this area. I also suggested that the Forest Service contact Cheryl if they have questions about contaminant issues.
