Area Seep Inventory
Page 3
o Sampled Mogul Mine #1 level (M#1) . A water sample was taken
at the portal . This is the most likely site for detecting if
a preferential flow path from the Sunnyside Mine along the
Brenneman Vein exists. It is the lowest level of
interconnected Mogul Mine workings. This portal flow was also
sampled in 1992.
o Seep 13 (S13) is a shallow adit. No water flow at the time of
inspection but visible flow lines show that this adit drains
some time during the year.
o Seep 4 (S4) is a small adit south of Mogul Mine #1 level. A
water sample was taken from portal. Based on the small size
of the dump, this adit does not extend very far into the
hillside.
o Seep 9 (S9) is approximately . 15 miles south of the Mogul Mine
#1 level. It is a small adit south of seep 4 adit and based
on the size of the dump, does not extend very far into the
hillside. A water sample was taken from portal.
o Seep 5 (S5) is a hole in the ground that water exits under
some pressure. No visible watercourses are in the immediate
vicinity.. A sample was taken where the water surfaces.
o MS1, MS2 and MS3 are distinct water courses draining the
marshy zone just south of the Mogul #1 level. This marshy
zone is on a topographic bench perched above Cement Creek.
These sites are the Mogul Springs referred to by Simon Hydro-
Search (September 3, 1993, Item 9, page 9) . These sites were
also sampled in 1992.
o Seep 8 (S8) is an old watercourse with no water in the upper
section, but water appears just before Cement Creek. A water
sample was taken where water surfaces.
o Seep 6 (S6) is an old watercourse with no water visible in
upper section, but water surfaces near Cement Creek. A water
sample was taken where water surfaces.
o Seep 7 (S7) is water surfacing through the bank of Cement
Creek. The bank is wet for approximately 30 feet. A sample
was taken before seep reaches Cement Creek.
o Sampled Gold King #7 level (GK) . Water flows from portal, but
flow is not measurable. Access to tunnel is blocked,
therefore it cannot be certain that total flow is exiting
portal. Flow from portal was estimated at 2.5 gal/min and a
water sample was taken from portal.
