Estimate of DMG Reasonable Costs for Work Performed
The table below should be compared to the costs in the previous table for DMG work. The previous table
assumes credit for areas done by the DMG according to the bond amount, not according to what was actually
done. The following table assumes a reasonable cosst for what the DMG has actually done for each of the tasks.
In some cases, the costs are identical and in other cases, the costs are drastically different.
Task# Task Description Reasonable Comments
Cost
1 Site Revegetation $90,291 This cost is based on the fact that the DMG has
reclaimed approximately 128.4 acres of mild
slopes at a cost of S599 per acre and 4 acres of
steep slopes at a cost of$3345 per acre, resulting
in a reasonable cost of$90291. It is not known
why the DMG is using hydroseeding and
mulching on all the mild areas instead of drill
seeding and crimp or broadcast mulching. The
cost of S599 per acre for drill seeding/mulching is
reasonable and should be used.
2 Structural $43,673 This cost is approximately accurate although
Demolition MCR got bids for considerably less when
considering the same work.
3-7 Mine Bench $15,000 The credit of only $15000 is given since the
Backfilling amount of material moved is much less than that
shown in the plans and the bond calculations.
Basically, only the portal tunnels were covered up
at all mine areas.
8 Backfill Prep $0 This work has not yet been done.
Plant Area
9 Finish Grade the $17,926 Full credit is given for this task since grading was
Entire Site done on the roads and the portal areas.
10 Sediment Pond $0 No work for this task has been done.
Removal
