In addition to the revegetation specifications outlined in Section 20.0 attached, the following <br />requirements will be adhered to: <br />Seed <br />Seed will be provided by the OWNER. CONTRACTOR must give the PROJECT <br />MANAGER at least ten (10) working days notice of the acreage to be seeded, so that the <br />proper amount of seed is delivered. <br />Fertilizers <br />Commercial fertilizer is required for this project. Fertilizer shall be provided by <br />CONTRACTOR, and shall conform to Section 20.2 (commercial fertilizer) of the <br />Revegetation Specifications, attached. <br />Seedbed Preparation <br />Seedbed preparation is required, and shall be accomplished as described in Section 20.3 of the <br />Revegetation Specifications, attached. <br />Mulches <br />Mulching is required for this project. Mulch shall be provided by CONTRACTOR, and shall <br />conform to Section 20.2 of the Revegetation Specifications, attached. All mulch shall be <br />certified as noxious weed free or noxious weed seed free by any authorized State or County <br />Officer. Documentation of certification shall be provided to the PROJECT MANAGER <br />prior to application of mulch. <br />The CONTRACTOR will supply the fertilizer (commercial), mulch, and equipment for <br />chiseling, fertilizer application, seeding, mulching and crimping. Revegetation efforts will <br />occur on approximately twelve (12) acres, which includes the areas located on the north slope <br />of the Old Refuse Pile subject to activities undertaken during performance of Task 2, Earth <br />Work, and the topsoil stockpile locations(s). <br />Broadcast application of seed and fertilizer and hand mulching and crimping is preferred. <br />Hydro seeding and hydro mulching is acceptable. If hydro seeding and hydro mulching is <br />selected, the seed and fertilizer will be applied in a first application, and the mulch applied <br />separately. Seed application rate will be double the drill seed application rate (Table 1, Mine <br />Site Seed Mixture) for broadcast and hydro seeding applications. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />Measurement and payment for this Task will be as per Revegetation Specification 20.0. <br />Revegetated areas will be measured to the nearest 0.1 acre and paid at the unit price bid on the <br />Bid Schedule Item 4. The price bid shall include all costs for labor, materials, equipment and <br />all other items necessary for revegetation as described in these specifications. Payment for this <br />task will be made only for the unit price shown under Item 4 of the Bid Schedule. Payment <br />shall be as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. <br />18 <br />
