HUNTSMAN PROJECT (1998)
The following is compiled from a DRAFT copy of an Invitation and Bid for the Huntsman
Project.
PROJECT WORK DESCRIPTION
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The goal of this project is to enhance the stability of the north facing slope of the Old Refuse Pile
by creating a slope which does not exceed an gradient of 2H:1 V. While a small amount of filling
is involved, generally the slope will be excavated to achieve the desired slope angle. Refuse
excavated from the Old Refuse Pile will be transported to a designated disposal area located at the
base of the north facing slope behind the former location of the Wash Plant. Upon completion of
cut, fill and disposal activities, the north slope of the Old Refuse Pile will be topsoiled and
revegetated. Silt fence may be erected at the base of the pile to minimize sediment transport from
the site. Map 3, Project Area, depicts the Old Refuse Pile, the disposal facility, topsoil pile
location and other features.
Volumes distances and areas stated in this document are estimations only. CONTRACTORS
are responsible for verifying all estimations prior to bid submittal.
WORK TASKS
The tasks included in this project are as follows:
Task 1: Mobilization and Demobilization
Task 2: Earth Work
Task 3: Topsoil Placement
Task 4: Revegetation
Task 5: Equipment Rental
Task 6: Silt Fence
Task 7: Under Drain Construction
Task 8: Tree Planting
12
