Date: October 8, 1997 <br />To: Interested Contractors <br />From: Steve Renner <br />RE: Coal Basin \Wash Plant PICA-8-404, Amendment No. 2 <br />11 <br />bid in Item 5 of the Revised Bid Schedule shall cover all costs for structural demolition and <br />removal of rubble and debris from each work area to the disposal areas for subsurface structures <br />discovered as a result of ripping operations. Payment shall be made as this task is completed and <br />approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. Payment for this Task will be made only for the unit <br />price shown under Item 5 of the revised bid schedule. <br />Note: The following is a copy of Amendment Number 2 (October 8, 1998) to the Wash <br />Plant Demolition Bid. It is a binding portion of the contract, and is included here for <br />clarity. <br />Thank you for attending the Pre -Bid Meeting on October 7, 1997. The following changes and <br />clarifications should be added to the Invitation and Bid. <br />1. As a point of clarification, the foundation and concrete pad which underlies the metal <br />building which is still standing in the north west portion of the Central Work Area will be <br />demolished as a part of this Project. The building will be removed by OTHERS prior to <br />May 18, 1998. <br />2. Upon completion of demolition and disposal activities, all concrete, block wall, and <br />asphaltic rubble will have been removed to the disposal area. In order to assure that the <br />area is sufficiently cleared of the rubble, PROJECT MANAGER, at no additional cost to <br />OWNER, may direct that a rock rake or other suitable mechanical device be employed to <br />collect scattered debris for removal to the disposal areas. <br />3. The five (5) cubic yard dump truck specified in Task 4, Equipment Rental, is eliminated <br />from the Invitation and Bid. <br />4. OWNER shall issue a Notice To Proceed in the fall of 1997, if desired by <br />CONTRACTOR, upon completion of all contract documents. Any days worked in the <br />fall of 1997 will not be counted toward the total days of completion. OWNER will NOT <br />pay remobilization costs. <br />
