The seed mixture will be applied at a rate of
30 pounds per acre with 1500-2000 pounds per acre of mulch con-
taining 25 pounds of 60-40-20 fertilizer . The mixtures will be
used to reclaim tunnel-related disturbance areas including sedi-
mentation ponds, perimeter ditches and spoil disposal areas .
Following the construction period , Mid-Continent will intensify
reclamation procedures by utilizing more native grasses, shrubs
and tree seedlings .
Maintenance procedures to insure stability of
the rock spoil disposal area include the following :
-conducting weekly inspection (4 . 09 .1 (10) ) of the fill to
check if rills, gullies or tension cracks have developed;
-supervising and monitoring fill construction;
-constructing the earth fill slopes in accordance with 30
CFR 816 . 71 and 816 .72;
-conducting weekly inspections of all drainage diversions,
impoundments and culverts associated with the fill;
-revegetating using standard engineering and reclamation
procedures .
