Revised Chapter V, Pages 20 and 21
The Division had previously indicated that reclamation of the Mine#1 dump would be required
during this year(1992).
The Division referred to plans for reclamation of the Mine#1 dump which had been submitted
previously. In reviewing these plans, we note that at that time, it had been anticipated the
dump would contain more material than it presently does. There is no environmental or
reclamation benefit to hauling additional materials to the site merely to achieve the contours
sketched out previously. Accordingly, we have indicated the actual present contours and
propose these as the final configuration of the reclaimed trash area. We are in need of some
additional soil material to use as a growth medium for vegetation and propose to use the
available soil material cleaned from ditches, b.a.t. ponds, and excavated during road
maintenance over the course of the summer. We further propose to use the same seed mix
as is being proposed (PR-2) for the roads.
The proposed revision also suggests a schedule over the next several years for completion of
clean-up and repairs at Portal Benches#3,#4 and #5. We believe this to be a realistic
schedule.
Yours truly,
Diane Delaney
Mid-Continent Resources
TR-23
6192
