Mr. Doug Bowman -2- March 5, 1984
B. Any kno n uses of the water in the alluvial aquifer;
C. Water . ality information on the alluvial groundwater; and
0. A description of the recharge, storage, and discharge
characteristics of the alluvial aquifer.
Only one analysis of Well E-1 was submitted and analysis of samples taken at
Well W-1 were only submitted for two quarters. A complete year of baseline is
required before the Division can approve this permit revision.
Sufficient surface water information must be provided to identify the seasonal
variations in water quantity and quality. The information submitted includes
a complete year of baseline data on Station 3, two quarters of date on Station
1 and one quarter of data on Station 2. One complete year of baseline surface
water quality information must be submitted before the Division can approve
this permit revision. Surface water quantity information is sufficient for
the completeness determination.
Mid-Continent must analyze both the surface and groundwater information and
submit a statement of the probable hydrologic consequences of refuse disposal
in this area.
6. No information was given on the design of the proposed conveyor system
from the wash plant to the refuse pile. Designs must submitted.
7. Three copies of the revised application must be submitted to the
Division. One copy must contain maps certified by a registered professional
engineer with an original signature.
8. It appears that portions of this proposed revision will require a variance
from the 100 foot stream buffer zone requirement of 4.05.18
Once the above items have been sufficiently addressed, the Division can
proceed with the review of this permit revision.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
S ncerely,
31 Herron
R lamation Specialist
JH/ph
Doc. No. 9855
