Mulches <br /> Mulching is required for this project. Mulch shall be provided by CONTRACTOR. For <br /> the slopes prepared during performance of Task 3, Outslope Preparation, mulch shall <br /> conform to Section 20.2 of the Revegetation Specifications, attached. All mulch shall <br /> be certified as noxious weed free or noxious weed seed free by any authorized State <br /> or County Officer. <br /> The CONTRACTOR will supply the fertilizer (commercial), mulch, and equipment for, <br /> fertilizer application, seeding and mulching. Revegetation efforts wih occur on <br /> approximately six (6) acres of prepared slopes, including outslopes ,,n the north and <br /> east flanks of Mine 4, the loadout pad area slope, and the east facing outslopes along <br /> the upper portions of the Road C corridor. <br /> Hand broadcast application of I,seed is preferred, however hydro seeding of the slopes <br /> is acceptable. If hydro seeding and hydro mulching of the slopes designated for <br /> preparation per Task 3, Outslope Preparation, is selected, the seed and fertilizer must <br /> be applied in a first application, and the mulch applied separately. <br /> Seed application rate will be at the rate spE.:ified in Table 1, Outslaoe Seed Mixture, <br /> for both hand broadcast and hydro seeding applications. <br /> SLOPES TO BE PROTECTED BY BONDED FIBER MATRIX PER TASK 5 <br /> Seed <br /> The seed listed in Table 1, Outslope Seed Mixture, will be provided by the OWNER. <br /> CONTRACTOR must give the PROJECT MANAGER at least ten (l 0) uTorkingays <br /> notice of the acreage to be seeded so that the proper amount of send is delivered. In <br /> addition, five pounds W) per acre of Calamagrostis (Sp?) and SenE�Cio (Sp?) seed, <br /> which was collected in Task 2, Native Seed Collection, shall be brocdcast on the <br /> outslopes. <br /> Fertilizers <br /> Fertilizer shall be provided by CONTRACTOR, and shall conform to Section 20.2 <br /> (commercial fertilizer) of the Revegetation Specifications, attached. Fertilizer shall be <br /> broadcast over the slope immediately prior to installation of the bonded fiber matrix <br /> (Task 5, Outslope Protection). <br /> Seedbed Preparation <br /> Seedbed preparation is unnecessary on the slopes designated for protection by the <br /> bonded fiber matrix application (Task 5, Outslope Protection). <br /> Mulches <br /> Mulch, in the form of the bonded fiber matrix, shall be provided and installed by <br /> 11 <br />
