Dept, of Natur i
Denver, Colorado 80203
Re : Stipulation No, 7, Backfilling and Grading Plan
for the Preparation Plant Area
Dear Jim:
Enclosed is the revised Preparation Plant B&G plan. We will
also change Vol . 7 , Chapter V, Page 31 to read as follows :
"b . Preparation Plant Area
All coal mining and processing structures, equipment
and associated support buildings, ponds , ditches and
power lines will be removed.
The entire area will be regraded and/or filled to A.O.C.
Most of the area was disturbed before current State and
Federal environmental laws were in effect , and topsoil
and/or B or C horizon materials were not salvaged. For
this reason if fill material is needed, concrete rubble,
coal refuse and/or trommel rock will be used for the
initial fill . It is estimated 103 , 700. cubic yards of
fill material would be required to return to A.O. C.
Surplus topsoil from the Sutey refuse pile area and/or
the glory hole and conveyor area will be placed over the
initial fill material . It is estimated that 6 to 12
inches would be available, approximately (6000 cu . yds. ) . "
Please contact me if you have any questions .
Si erely,
 f.CJK✓vlrolt.
Environmental Coordinator
DWBowman:ms
Enclosure
