Co
y- p DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
David H.Getches,Executive Director
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
1876 DAVID C.SHELTON,Director
Richard D.Lamm
Governor
Mr. Doug Bowman
Mid-Continent Resources, Inc.
P.O. Box 158
Carbondale, CO 81623
Re: Stipulation No. 7 Responses
File No. C-017-81
Dear Mr. Bowman:
I have completed a review of the proposed backfilling and grading plan for the
preparation plant area. The review indicated several deficiencies.
therefore, this technical revision request has been deemed incomplete for the
purposes of filing. The following information must be submitted in order for
the technical revision to be deemed complete:
1) Three additional copies of the revision.
2) Additional cross sections showing the existing topography and the
reclaimed topography. The backfilling and grading plan appears to be
valid in concept, but additional cross-sections are necessary to
evaluate the plan. It is suggested that two north-south cross sections
through the main preparation plant area near the District office and
one north-south cross section in the vicinity of the bus garage/#2 coal
stockpile area be submitted.
3) If Mid-Continent proposes to use coal processing waste as backfill
material , the information required by rule 4. 10 must be submitted.
4) Mid-Continent must show where all fill material will come from and show
that the amount of material necessary to attain the backfilled
configuration is available.
As always, please call if you have any questions.
4Re
erelyHerron
amation Specialist
JH/md
Doc.
