June 6, 2012 C- 1981 - 010 /Trapper Mine JLE <br />Deer and antelope were observed within the reclaimed parcels that were walked during this inspection. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05; Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Deer Pond was dry and the spillway is stable. The impoundment embankment is stable and vegetated. <br />Ute Pond; the spillway stable and the flume is partially covered with grass that will need to be removed. The dam <br />embankment is stable and vegetated. The pond is holding water but is not discharging. <br />East Flume Pond is dry and the spillway and embankment are stable. <br />East Middle flume is holding water but is not discharging. The dam embankment is stable and vegetated. The <br />sediment level of the pond appears to be below 60 %. <br />Middle Flume 4 1 pond is holding water and the dam embankment is stable. Pond 93 is holding water but is not <br />discharging and the dam embankment is vegetated and stable. <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLANCE: <br />The LeTourneau Loader was working on moving overburden in K -Pit. <br />All the draglines were located in K -Pit however none of them were operating at the time of the inspection. <br />A truck and shovel crew was mining coal in K -Pit. <br />East A Pit is filled with water and they are pumping this water into water trucks for road maintenance. <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03; Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3); Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4); Surfacing and <br />Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6); Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />The Operator was conducting road maintenance at the time of the inspection. Mr. Nicholson indicated they would <br />be laying mag- chloride on a portion of the haul road in the near future. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3: <br />The Division walked several reclamation parcels. Several erosion gullies and weed patched were observed. The <br />location of these gullies and patches were recorded with a Trimble YUMA GPS unit.
