traverse the project area at the northern perimeter just south of Coal Creek, and at two <br />locations near the central and southern portions of the Project Area (see Map 3). <br />Although the concrete ditch linings will be demolished during Task 2, Demolition, <br />CONTRACTOR must maintain the ditch dimensions and integrity in their current <br />locations. <br />Silt fences (sediment containment fences) will be installed as per manufacturers <br />specifications (Figure 1, Typical Silt Fence Installation) at various locations to minimize <br />the transportation of sediment from the construction area. Placement of silt fencing will <br />occur at locations specified by the PROJECT MANAGER. The CONTRACTOR will supply <br />the prefabricated silt fence with posts (Mirafi Prefabricated Silt Fence with Posts having <br />a 3 foot width and 8.2 feet between posts, or equivalent). It is estimated that 800 feet of <br />silt fence will be installed at the Project Area. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />Silt fences erected will be measured to the nearest linear foot. However, the use of silt <br />fence is NOT guaranteed. Payment for this task will at the prices established in Item 3 <br />of the Bid Schedule per lineal foot installed. Such payment shall be considered full <br />compensation for all labor, materials, equipment and all other items necessary and <br />incidental to the furnishing and placement of the sediment containment fences as <br />directed and described in the specifications. Payment will be as this task is completed <br />and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. Payment for this task will be made only for <br />the unit price shown under Item 3 of the Bid Schedule. <br />Task 4 Equipment Rental <br />Additional areas in and adjacent to the project area may require slope reduction, <br />excavation or erosion control work. A CAT D -7H or equivalent 215 FHP machine with <br />operator, a CAT 416B Backhoe loader or equivalent 74 fhp machine with operator, and <br />a five (5) cubic yard on /off highway dump truck with operator shall be furnished for <br />additional work as needed. <br />The hours outlined in Task 4 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed. All work will be <br />accomplished according to Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental, attached. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />Measurement and payment will be made as per Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental, <br />which is attached. Payment will be made at the unit prices established in Item 4 of the <br />Bid Schedule. The hours outlined in Item 4 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed. <br />10 <br />
