slopes to be a component of reclamation given your education, experience and the permit
documents previously provided to you. You also need to anticipate any downfalls in the
Divisions' steep slope revegetation bid/plan, and anticipate Mid-Continents' attack of the bid/
plan. Should this matter go to trial, you would be among our expert witnesses.
Please provide a draft report by January 15, 1999.
Dan Mathews, a vegetation expert with the Division, completed a cover estimate for the steep
slopes revegetated in 1996 at Mines 1 and 2. This, as well as any other information you may
need, can be provided to you if you desire.
The permit file and permit application are available at my office in Grand Junction. If you need
specific information, I may be able to provide it to you via FAX or by mail.
Please feel free to contact me (970) 241-0336, David Bucknam (303) 866-3567, or Cheryl
Linden (303) 866-5127 if you have questions, comments, need more information or require
clarification of these requests.
cc: David Bucknam
Cheryl Linden
c:\sgr\1ega1\bcknrwrk.wpd
