water storage tank and to the 016 ponds will be accomplished during completion of this
Project. These roads will be reclaimed in a manner similar to that employed on Roads
E, F, G. The roads will be graded to a configuration so that they have a slope of
approximately 5% to the outside, any culverts will be removed and the road surface will
be ripped to twelve to eighteen inches on no greater than thirty inch centers.
In order to facilitate access to the north portion of Coal Basin and to the Rock Dump
Facility, low water crossings will be constructed; one on Dutch Creek, and one on the
North Fork of Dutch Creek. The crossings will effectively replace the culverts
previously removed. The low water crossings will be constructed approximately fifty
feet upstream of the current culvert locations in order to take advantage of the stream
gradient and surrounding land forms. Each low water crossing will be armored with
appropriately sized rock. Armoring of the stream bed and entry and exits will be
accomplished.
TASK 8 EQUIPMENT RENTAL
Additional areas in the vicinity of the Rock Tunnel entry area may require additional
grading, excavation, slope reduction, or erosion control work under the direction of the
PROJECT MANAGER. A CAT D-6D or equivalent 140 FHP machine with operator,
and a CAT 416B Backhoe loader or equivalent 74 fhp machine with operators shall be
furnished for additional work as needed. The hours outlined in Item 8 of the Bid
Schedule are NOT guaranteed.
All work will be accomplished according to Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental, which
is attached. Any additional dozer or backhoe work which may arise will be covered
under this task.
Measurement and Payment
Measurement and payment will be made as per Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental,
of the "Standard Work Specifications, Colorado Inactive Mine Reclamation Program",
1996, which is attached. Payment will be made at the unit prices established in Item 8
of the Bid Schedule. The hours outlined in Item 8 of the Bid Schedule are NOT
guaranteed.
TASK 9 REVEGETATION
INCLUDE SURFACE ROUGHENING OF BACKFILL AND PLACEMENT OF MANURE
AND INCORPORATION IN BACKFILL SURFACE
All areas disturbed during reclamation work and any other areas specified in these
Special Conditions will be revegetated according to the Revegetation Specifications in
the General Bid Specifications Section 20.0, except as modified by these Special
Conditions. All areas will be seeded with the "Mine Site Seed Mixture", (Table 1).
