Measurement and Payment
Payment for completion of this task will be per culvert removed. The number and
location of the culverts to be removed will be established by PROJECT MANAGER
prior to this Task being initiated. Payment for removal of the culverts will be made at
the unit price established in Item 5 of the Bid Schedule. Such payment will be
considered full compensation for all equipment and labor needed to accomplish
removal of the designated culverts, including backfilling and compaction of the
excavations. Payment shall be as this task is completed and approved by the
PROJECT MANAGER.
TASK 6 ROLLED DIP CONSTRUCTION
Rolled dips will be constructed on the north west Sutey access road and on the main
Sutey access road. The purpose of the rolled dips is to channel water from up slope
areas off of the roads to the out slopes at frequent intervals. The locations of the rolled
dips to be constructed shall be marked in the field by the PROJECT MANAGER using
wood lathe or other suitable means prior to construction. It is anticipated that two (2)
dips will be built on the north west Sutey access road, and that ten (10) dips will be built
on the main Sutey access road.
Rolled dips constructed on the north west Sutey access road will be built to the
specifications contained in Figure 2, North West Sutey Rolled Dips. The dips will be
constructed nearly perpendicular to the road length. Excavated dirt shall be placed on
the down slope side of the dip. The slopes of the dips shall not be steeper than
2.5H:1 V. The depth of the ditch at the outlet as measured from the downslope side of
the road adjacent to the dip shall be 1.75 feet.
The main Sutey access road will continue to be used by vehicles to access private
property further up Coal Creek. Rolled dips constructed on the main Sutey access
road will be built to the specifications contained in Figure 3, Main Sutey Rolled Dips.
The dips will be constructed on an angle thirty degrees (300 ) from perpendicular to the
road length. Excavated dirt shall be placed on the down slope side of the dip. The
slopes of the dips shall not be steeper than 5H:1 V. The depth of the ditch at the outlet
as measured from the downslope side of the road adjacent to the dip shall be 1.75 feet.
Measurement and Payment
Payment for construction of the rolled dips shall be at the unit price bid in Item 6 of the
Bid Schedule per rolled dip constructed. Such payment shall be considered full
compensation for all labor, materials, equipment and all other items necessary and
incidental to the construction of the rolled dips. Payment shall be as this task is
completed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER.
13
