A small amount of steel debris, other materials and trash may be encountered within the Project
Area. These materials, as well as any other debris encountered within the Project Area will be
collected and removed from the site. CONTRACTOR shall dispose of these materials in a
licensed disposal facility.
Measurement and Payment
There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this task will be reflected in a lump sum
bid under Item 2 on the Bid Schedule. This lump sum bid will cover all costs for demolition and
disposal of the buildings foundations and footers identified for removal, as well as for the
collection and disposal of miscellaneous debris and scrap materials encountered within the
Project Area. Payment shall be as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT
MANAGER. Such payment shall be considered full compensation for all labor, materials,
equipment and all other items necessary and incidental to the completion of Task 2, Demolition.
TASK 3 CULVERT REMOVAL
Two large stream / road culverts will be removed during completion of this Task.
The Road E culvert is an approximately ten Feet (10') diameter corrugated metal pipe
culvert. The Road E culvert is located approximately 150 feet north of the concrete
rubble disposal area on the North Fork of Dutch Creek. The dirt overlying the culvert,
and the dirt to be excavated from the sides of the culvert will be removed to the
concrete disposal area for later use. The culvert shall be removed from the Project
Area by CONTRACTOR, who may either keep the culvert, or dispose of it in a licensed
disposal facility. Excavation and removal of the culvert shall be accomplished so that
the gradient of the channel floor above and below the former location of the culvert
match when this Task is completed. The slopes on the sides of the culvert shall be
excavated to a configuration no steeper than 3H:1 V. The surfaces of the sides shall be
left in a roughened condition by scarifying them using a track hoe bucket.
CONTRACTOR shall use caution in order to minimize the amount of dirt which is lost
into the creek
A second culvert, approximately fourteen feet (14') in diameter, bridges Dutch Creek
immediately south of the Rock Tunnel. The dirt overlying the culvert, and the dirt to be
excavated from the sides of the culvert will be removed to the concrete disposal area
for later use. The culvert shall be removed from the Project Area by CONTRACTOR,
who may either keep the culvert, or dispose of it in a licensed disposal facility.
Excavation and removal of the culvert shall be accomplished so that the gradient of the
channel floor above and below the former location of the culvert match when this Task
is completed. The slopes on the sides of the culvert shall be excavated to a
configuration no steeper than 21-1:1 V on the eh north stream bank, and 31-11:1 V on the
south stream bank. The surfaces of the sides shall be left in a roughened condition by
scarifying them using a track hoe bucket. CONTRACTOR shall use caution in order to
minimize the amount of dirt which is lost into the creek.
