A small amount of steel debris, other materials and trash may be encountered within the Project <br /> Area. These materials, as well as any other debris encountered within the Project Area will be <br /> collected and removed from the site. CONTRACTOR shall dispose of these materials in a <br /> licensed disposal facility. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this task will be reflected in a lump sum <br /> bid under Item 2 on the Bid Schedule. This lump sum bid will cover all costs for demolition and <br /> disposal of the buildings foundations and footers identified for removal, as well as for the <br /> collection and disposal of miscellaneous debris and scrap materials encountered within the <br /> Project Area. Payment shall be as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT <br /> MANAGER. Such payment shall be considered full compensation for all labor, materials, <br /> equipment and all other items necessary and incidental to the completion of Task 2, Demolition. <br /> TASK 3 CULVERT REMOVAL <br /> Two large stream / road culverts will be removed during completion of this Task. <br /> The Road E culvert is an approximately ten Feet (10') diameter corrugated metal pipe <br /> culvert. The Road E culvert is located approximately 150 feet north of the concrete <br /> rubble disposal area on the North Fork of Dutch Creek. The dirt overlying the culvert, <br /> and the dirt to be excavated from the sides of the culvert will be removed to the <br /> concrete disposal area for later use. The culvert shall be removed from the Project <br /> Area by CONTRACTOR, who may either keep the culvert, or dispose of it in a licensed <br /> disposal facility. Excavation and removal of the culvert shall be accomplished so that <br /> the gradient of the channel floor above and below the former location of the culvert <br /> match when this Task is completed. The slopes on the sides of the culvert shall be <br /> excavated to a configuration no steeper than 3H:1 V. The surfaces of the sides shall be <br /> left in a roughened condition by scarifying them using a track hoe bucket. <br /> CONTRACTOR shall use caution in order to minimize the amount of dirt which is lost <br /> into the creek <br /> A second culvert, approximately fourteen feet (14') in diameter, bridges Dutch Creek <br /> immediately south of the Rock Tunnel. The dirt overlying the culvert, and the dirt to be <br /> excavated from the sides of the culvert will be removed to the concrete disposal area <br /> for later use. The culvert shall be removed from the Project Area by CONTRACTOR, <br /> who may either keep the culvert, or dispose of it in a licensed disposal facility. <br /> Excavation and removal of the culvert shall be accomplished so that the gradient of the <br /> channel floor above and below the former location of the culvert match when this Task <br /> is completed. The slopes on the sides of the culvert shall be excavated to a <br /> configuration no steeper than 21-1:1 V on the eh north stream bank, and 31-11:1 V on the <br /> south stream bank. CONTRACTOR shall use caution in order to <br /> minimize the amount of dirt which is lost into the creek. <br />
