The main Sutey access road will continue to be used by vehicles to access private property
further up Coal Creek. Rolled dips constructed on the main Sutey access road will be built to the
specifications contained in Figure 3, Main Sutey Rolled Dips. The dips will be constructed on an
angle thirty degrees (300 ) from perpendicular to the road length. Excavated dirt shall be placed
on the down slope side of the dip. The slopes of the dips shall not be steeper than 5H:1V. The
depth of the ditch at the outlet as measured from the downslope side of the road adjacent to the
dip shall be 2.0 feet.
Measurement and Payment
Payment for construction of the rolled dips shall be at the unit price bid in Item 5 of the Bid
Schedule per rolled dip constructed. Such payment shall be considered full compensation for all
labor, materials, equipment and all other items necessary and incidental to the construction of
the rolled dips. Payment shall be as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT
MANAGER.
TASK 6 LOW WATER CROSSINGS
Two low water crossings are to be constructed within the Project Area, one on the main Sutey
access road, and one on Road A.
A low water crossing will be installed on the main Sutey access road at the location of the thirty
six inch (36") culvert removed during Task 3, Culvert Removal. The other low water crossing will
be constructed near the second switchback on Road A. PROJECT MANAGER will mark the
location of each low water crossing in the field prior to construction beginning.
Specifications
The low water crossings shall be constructed to the specifications of Figure 4, Low Water
Crossing. Each crossing will be nearly perpendicular to the length of the road, and will have a
fall of five percent (5%) across its axis. Ingress and egress routes shall be no steeper than
6H:1 V. The crossing shall be the width of the road above and below the crossing. Durable rock
shall be placed within the crossing and on the sides. The rock shall be placed as a blanket with
a coarse of screened one inch (1") underlying a coarse of screened two inch (2") rock. A course
of four inch (4") rock shall be placed over the other two (2) courses at the base of the crossing.
Measurement and Payment
Payment shall be made per low water crossing installed. Payment shall be made at the unit
price established in the Bid Schedule, Items 6 A and B. The unit prices bid will cover all costs for
excavation, and rock placement per specifications. The lump sum bid shall be considered full
compensation for all equipment and materials necessary and incidental to completing the low
water crossings to the specifications of this Task. Payment shall be as this Task is completed
and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER.
TASK 7 SURFACE CHANNELS
Three (3) surface channels will be constructed as a part of this Task, one which will drain the Old
Coal Storage Area, one at the Sutey Refuse Disposal Area, and one on the Rock Dump (Map 3,
Project Area).
13
