Letter APPENDIX C8 <br /> Victor Weyers <br /> U.S. Forest Service <br /> March 3, 1976 <br /> Page Two <br /> - Attain land use and activity patterns that <br /> minimize transportation needs while maintain- <br /> ing high mobility. <br /> - Minimize the negative impacts created by ex- <br /> cessive use of the automobile. <br /> - Regulate land 'use to facilitate the efficient <br /> and economical provision of public facilities <br /> and services. <br /> - Establish an optimum population growth rate. <br /> - Adopt a pay as you go policy to meet the <br /> public facility needs resulting from urban <br /> growth. <br /> - Preserve historic buildings and characteristics. <br /> - Promote more artistic, cultural , educational <br /> recreational and other opportunities for mental , <br /> spiritual and physical growth of the individual . <br /> The County is presently preparing a Growth Management Plan, and <br /> its development will provide an opportunity to further review and <br /> define the goals and objectives for the County and, specifically, <br /> the Crystal River Valley. <br /> In general , the County supports the idea of private land consolidation <br /> to the Redstone Townsite area with the goal of eliminating scattered, <br /> unrelated developments in the Crystal River Valley with the focusing <br /> of inevitable growth in the townsite area.
