The seed used was the Mountain Mix and hay <br /> mulch, where used , was applied at a rate of 1 ton/acre. <br /> 5) completion of cleaning and regrading the settling ponds <br /> across Hwy. 110 and to the south of Tailings Pond No. 4 . This <br /> area was seeded with the Mountain Mix at 22 lbs/acre and <br /> mulched with hay at 1 ton/acre. <br /> 6) monitoring and maintenance of the vegetation growth. <br /> 7) drilling a line of holes upgradient of the pond to determine <br /> the depth to groundwater and bedrock . <br /> Planned activity for 1994 includes: <br /> 1) completion of the stormwater/groundwater ditch. <br /> 2) usage of the area for deposition of sludge from the Terry <br /> Tunnel and American Tunnel water treatment settling ponds . <br /> 3) maintenance of the vegetation established to-date. <br /> TAILINGS POND NO. 3 AREA - Plate No . 3 <br /> Activity at this site during the 1993 reporting year consisted of : <br /> 1) completion of the sideslopes of the ditch at the back of the <br /> pond. <br /> 2) seeding and mulching of the areas that were missed in 1992. <br /> The seed mix used was the Mountain Mix and hay mulch was <br /> applied at a rate of 1 ton/acre. <br /> 3) an application ( initial treatment) of limestone at 5 tons/acre <br /> to the side-slopes to provide long-term neutralization <br /> potential . <br /> 4) drilling of holes upgradient from the pond to determine the <br /> depth to groundwater and bedrock. <br /> Planned activity for 1994 includes: <br /> 1) maintenance of vegetation. <br />
