Terry Tunnel Area - Plate No. 2 (continued)
Efforts were made to seal Pond#2 but we do not believe they were
successful as dye placed in the water could be detected as
seepage at stream level .
The new portable lime feed system was placed in service in late
May, 1989 and was active through October , 1.989 .
Activities planned for 1990 are:
(1) To do the annual ;site cleanup work although the efforts
required should be minimal at this site.
(2) Seal Pond#2 so no seepage can be detected.
(3 ) Experiment with planting on the Terry dump side-slopes.
(4) Install a new weir (for discharge flow measurement) with the
capacity to measure accurately the wide flow range
experienced at this discharge.
Sunnyside Basin (Lake Emma) Area - Plate No. 2
Underground mining was conducted in Sunnyside Basin as covered in
TR No. 07 . The three small underground blocks of ore were mined
with the only disturbance not already disturbed by the 1988 open
pit work being a short section of road (an extension off an
existing road) to the No Name portal .
The waste rock stockpiles were treated with ProMac during July
and October as committed to for mitigation of acid production
from the temporary waste stockpiles. Samples of the waste rock
were taken and sent to BF Goodrich for analysis in order to gauge
the effectiveness of the treatment process (report attached in
Appendix A. ) . It appears that the treatment process is having
the desired effect.
The Lake Emma test plot area was evaluated on 9/15/89 by Thomas
Colbert of IMS Inc . . Tom originally constructed the test plots in
the fall of 1988 . He was very encouraged by the growth in the
test plots and noted that the ProMac treatment had a positive
effect on seedling establishment. The report on this visit is ✓"
included in ndix A. The report by BF Goodrich on the samples
taken from the test plot area is also included in the Appendix A.
-3-
