At Attachment 1 to this Appendix (II-B-App . 7-Att . 1) are <br /> the plans for the mine portal areas drainage and sediment <br /> control prepared by Morrison-Knudsen Company for Mid-Continent . <br /> C . Haul Road Drainage And Sediment Control Plan <br /> A haul road drainage control plan has been accomplished <br /> for Mid-Continent by Morrison Knudsen, Company, Inc . The <br /> purpose of the plan for the 13 . 7 miles of haul roads in Coal <br /> Basin is to bring the drainage performance standards into <br /> compliance with the CMLRB rules and reclamation section <br /> 4 . 03 . 0 - Performance Standards for Haul Roads . These roads <br /> bisect three major drainages , Coal Creek, Dutch Creek and <br /> Bear Creek . Dutch Creek is affected the most, as 11 miles <br /> of road are located in its drainage boundaries . The recom- <br /> mendation of the Morrison Knudsen haul road drainage control <br /> investigation was that 17 new culverts were required to <br /> augment the 57 already in place . These have been constructed <br /> in line with that recommendation. See Attachment 2 to this <br /> Appendix (II-B-App . 8 - Att . 2) for the details of the <br /> Morrison Knudsen drainage control plan . <br /> D . Preparation Plant Area Drainage And Sediment Control <br /> Plan <br /> The preparation plant area at the junction of Coal , <br /> Dutch and Bear Creeks contains the highest density of sur- <br /> face activities in Coal Basin. In addition to the coal <br /> preparation plant, open and closed coal storage facilities <br /> and adjacent coal refuse disposal area, all control and <br /> 2 <br />
