1 I 1
Attachment to Permit Renewal Application Permit# CO-0000396
Page 13
In 1993, Mid-Continent Resources completed removal of structures, backfill, grading
and seeding of the area which drains to the 017 pond. DMG has reclaimed the road to
Mine #5, including removal of major culvert crossing on Oil Well Creek and Coal Creek.
018 SR No. 1 Mine Pond 3.0 So. Fk. Dutch Ck
1-1
All property in the area formerly owned by Mid-Continent has been acquired, and is
owned by, the U.S. Forest Service.
Portals have been sealed, and DMG has completed backfill, grading and seeding of
the area which drained to these ponds. Backfill/grading activities at the site appear to
have removed various pipes which conveyed flows to these ponds, so the ponds do not
appear to be receiving drainage from the (former) mine benches.
019 MW No. 2 Mine Dschg NA So Fk Dutch Ck
All property in the area formerly owned by Mid-Continent has been acquired, and is
owned by, the U.S. Forest Service.
Mine #2 has been sealed and the portal area has been backfilled and seeded.
020 SR Picnic Pond 1.2 Coal Creek
The property on which the pond is situated, and the surrounding area, have been sold
to Mid-Con, L.L.C.
The pond was installed to provide drainage for what was intended as a covered coal
storage facility, to be situated on the hillside above. A culvert carried drainage from
the intended storage site to the 020 pond. However, the coal storage facility was never
constructed. As part of reclamation activity, the culvert from the (designated) coal
storage site to the 020 pond has been removed.
021 SR Sutey Coal Refuse 2.4 Coal Creek
Ponds—
The "Sutey" pile, a refuse pile, has been reclaimed, with grading, topsoil and seeding
completed, and vegetation well established. The property on which the Sutey pile is
sited has been sold to the U.S. Forest Service.
A ditch conveys runoff from the pile to the 021 ponds, which are sited on property sold
to Mid-Con, L.L.C.
