O'Connor
Page 2
November 24, 1986
Sec. V(1) As stated in our mid-term response of July 3,
PCC submitted a revised Adjudication File (Tab
3) with the Technical Revision (TR) which
detailed changes in the corporate structure,
addresses, etc. on October 16, 1986. A permit
application document was submitted with the TR.
Another is attached to this letter for this
Permit Revision Application.
(2) An updated insurance policy was submitted with
the July 3, 1986 response to Mid-term comments
and is included in both the TR and PR (Tab 3,
Attachment 3-10) .
(3) An updated NPDES permit was submitted with the
July 3, 1986 response to Mid-term comments and
is incorporated into the PR in Tab 7, Appendix
7-6. Tab 3, Section VII of the TR and PR
reflect the current NPDES permit status.
(4a) The 4th Quarter, 1984 NPDES Reports for Ponds
004-006 were submitted with the July 3, 1986
response.
(4b) Sediment level determination methods were
submitted in early September, 1986. Additional
comments were received from CMLRD on September
30, 1986. Responses to these letter comments
were incorporated in the methodologies presented
in the TR in Appendix 7-1. These same
methodologies are presented in Tab 7, Appendix
7-1 of the PR.
(4c) Tab 7, Appendix 7-le of this PR details the
remedial action to be taken to repair gullying
on the downstream face of Pond 006.
(4d) As presented in Tab 7, Section V.B and C,
downgradient ground and surface water quality
monitoring data suggest that impacts from mining
have not precluded the historical or existing
uses of irrigation return flow. It is PCC's
conclusion that lining of the irrigation ditch
is not necessary to project the existing water
use.
(4e) Four aquifers tests were performed at the Nucla
Mine during the 1986 summer field season. Data
collected and interpretation are presented in Tab
7, Section V.C.4 - pp. 142-150 of this PR.
