BEFORE THE MINED LAND RECLAMATION BOARD <br />STATE OF COLORADO <br />PRE - HEARING STATEMENT OF APPLICANT <br />GCC RIO GRANDE, INC. <br />IN THE MATTER OF THE GCC RIO GRANDE, INC., THE RED ROCK PLANT AND <br />MINE, FILE NO. M- 2002 -004, APPROVAL OF A 112 PERMIT APPLICATION OVER <br />OBJECTIONS <br />GCC Rio Grande, Inc., by its undersigned counsel, hereby submits this Pre - Hearing <br />Statement in this matter. This Pre - Hearing Statement is submitted pursuant to the Pre - Hearing <br />Order of June 7, 2002 and Mined Land Reclamation Board Rule 2.6. <br />GCC Rio Grande submitted permit application No. M- 2002 -004 to the Division of <br />Minerals and Geology ( "Division ") on January 18, 2002, seeking a mining and reclamation <br />permit for a limestone mining operation at the proposed Red Rock Plant and Mine, located <br />southeast of Pueblo, Colorado. <br />I. Mr. McGill will introduce the Red Rock Mine and Project, existing permits and <br />approvals, and provide an overview of the mining permit application. Mr. McGill may also <br />present information (including electronic) regarding GCC Rio Grande, its parent company, <br />and/or the Portland cement manufacturing process. Mr. McGill may rely upon maps, drawings, <br />calculations, narrative and any other materials from the mining permit application in providing <br />testimony at the hearing. <br />II.
